- Located below the Marriott Residence Inn and just above the AC Hotel in Wailea, Matteo’s is an upscale Osteria that could reside in Calabasas, Newport Beach, or Beverly Hills. Most restaurants in Hawaii are fairly ‘no-frills’ and sleekly styled. Matteo’s is the exception; it’s very warm and upscale. The restaurant is really beautiful with a huge wine room in the middle as a focal point. It’s a little hard to find but it’s in the back corner of a small plaza at the end of the cul-de-sac of Wailea Ike Place. The food was fresh, rustic and fantastic, especially the pumpkin ravioli, seafood pasta, and spaghetti carbonara.
